The Vote is in on KCHC
After a great weekend with top end talent trying out for AA travel in Kansas City, the teams have been set. Congratulations to all of those who made it as well as all of those who gave it their all. These, as always, are not easy decisions, especially with the quality of talent throughout the city.
Kudos goes out to those families, coaches and directors who have developed and continue to develop all of these excellent athletes. As we continue to grow and develop as an organization, we are looking forward to the opportunities that will arise for families throughout the city, as we bring talent together and towards development as a whole in Kansas City.
Now to get to the part that most of us were anxious to see, the vote on naming rights to KCHC or Kansas City Outlaws. Personally, I have always worn whatever colors I had the privilege to wear. I wore, sweat and bled on many different flags on the front. The last one was the Mavs, this one was very personal to me as it was the last color I ever wore before hanging up my skates. I know there has been some mixed emotions regarding the name change and that is ok, change is never easy, but we continue to move forward. The best part about the Mavs, is they are still here. We all have the opportunity to enjoy watching high level hockey as well honoring the Mavs logo wearing our old jerseys to games.
Remember, once a Mav, always a Mav!
Alright, time for the results of the poll…………It was pretty lopsided in favor of unifying under one name for the organization. KCHC will be known as Kansas City Outlaws AA going forward.
This poll was fun for me as it allowed our families to have a say in something meaningful to them. As we grow as an organization, I would encourage more input like this to build something together for everyone.
Thanks again to all those participants, we are looking forward to a great season and future together.
